“We do not remember days, we remember moments.”
“Life is not measured by the amount of breaths we take – but the moments that take our breath away.”
There are 365 days in a year, 7 days in a week, 24 hours in a day, 60 minuets in an hour, 60 seconds in a minute. Yet we will only remember a minuscule about of moments in our entire life time.
It’s strange how some moments can have just a bit more resonance than other moments. How things can stand out from others. Usually you will find these are the purest of moments, either moments of realisation, happiness or sadness.
We always seem to remember big events such as birthdays and weddings however I feel the most important moments are perhaps the silliest and smallest moments in which we feel the most. Sometimes the smallest moments, create the biggest memories.
A lot of the time we allow ourselves to overthink, and this forces us to focus on the sad moments whilst overlooking all the happy memories we’ve experienced.
People say, the past is in the past and to forget about it, however I disagree with this. Your past holds all of your memories, good and bad, what would happen if you couldn’t remember all the special or important moments in your life?
It would be pretty boring. Learn from your past and keep creating new memories – time is precious so don’t waste a single moment.
