Miss Cumbria helps to find the next Miss Bolton!
Well once again, it’s been fairly quiet, my training for the ‘Great North Run’ which is due to take place next month, continues to go well.
I have to say though, I have been truly inspired by the athlete’s participating in the Common Wealth Games, it is simply a privilege to watch in awe the sense of pride of each athletes achievements and the support received from the general public who are appreciative of the sheer hard work, guts and determination to succeed.
On Saturday, I popped down to Bolton to help Mary and Mark find this year’s contestants for the Miss Bolton competition which due to take place later this year, it goes without saying I am looking forward to helping out as/when required in the search for other regional finalist/s in Team North West!
Although I’m moving to London in September this will not distract me from my duties of Miss Cumbria and I plan to travel back as much as I can in order to stay part of the team.
Finally, I shouldn’t sign off my blog without recognising the significance this week in remembrance of World War I, many of the girls, myself included were inspired, in using this theme for the Eco round in Miss England, my outfit too was a nod to all of the young men who sacrificed their lives for their country.
I can’t however but be alarmed by the events in Gaza at this present moment in time, and hope that long lasting peace is restored by both conflicting sides soon.
