Miss Cumbria As Audrey Hepburn
This week has been slightly less hectic than the previous few weeks, allowing me to really start to get myself organised for the Miss England finals!
It’s all beginning to feel very real now and it is sinking in how privileged I really am to have been chosen to represent my amazing county I’m beginning to get incredibly excited about going down to Torquay (where the finals are to be held) and meeting all of the other inspiring girls taking part.
Aside from my Miss England preparations, working hard at my job in the Aqua Sana at Center Parcs and getting myself to the gym to make sure I’m fit for the Miss England boot camp I had the privilege of going to the most amazing hen party travelling around the Lake District on a vintage bus dressed as movie stars!
At 1pm on Sunday the 26th May, we all boarded the vintage bus at Penrith bus station and headed out to the lakes. Stopping off along the way at places such as Keswick, Ambleside and Windemere the beautiful hen Marilyn Munro (A.K.A Alison Brisco) and her entourage enjoyed a tour of the beautiful Cumbrian countryside and a picnic by the lake.
The sun came along too; this is a very rare occasion we knew we were privileged!
I think it was such a fabulous idea to do something different for a hen party and as we live in such a beautiful area what better place to go than deep into the heart of the lakes!
I’m sure the tourists visiting the area also enjoyed the entertainment of watching various different movie characters negotiating their way up and down the steps of the vintage bus in their high heels!
For the occasion I dressed up as my favourite movie icon, Audrey Hepburn – I absolutely loved the excuse to wear my most glamorous jewellery, long black silk gloves, backcomb my hair into a beehive and wear a vintage style classic little black dress!
I’m looking forward to next week as I’m travelling down to the Dress Studio to purchase my Miss England finals dress and also have a photo shoot for a wonderful jeweller from Penrith, I can’t wait to tell you all about my experience so do check back next week for an update!
What I’m loving this week…
Mr Wippy ice creams sat by lake windemere! Summer isn’t the same without a “99” with a flake, sat by the picturesque lake. Light, creamy and very satisfying, unfortunately the ducks think so too so keeping it to your self is often quite a challenge!
What I’m hating…
The fact that a “99” ice cream is no longer 99p…charging £1.20 is a crime!
