Brave girl – Junior Miss Cumbria, Ashleigh Johnston plans a Skydive!
Well I’ve had an amazing few months! Miss Cumbria has been such a good experience. I met so many amazing people and had an exiting time preparing for the event including fundraising and making my Eco dress! I would love to be a part of this again and would recommend everyone to take part, it’s such a good opportunity to gain confidence, fundraise and meet new people!
Since the event I have been busy rehearsing for shows with my dance school Dancerz, Cumbria, which is in July and my theatre group Staged right youth theatre which is next week!
I was also lucky enough to go to Preston to meet the girls and organising team of what we like to call #TeamNorth. Again I met loads of lovely people and we took part in some icebreaker activities to get to know each other. So many of the girls already have lots of experience with fundraising and Miss England itself; there’s so much I can learn from them and I can wait to see them all again.
During the day I came up with loads of fundraising ideas and events I would like to be a part of!
In April I’m going to be doing a skydive for a local charity ‘Toms Room’. It is something I’ve always wanted to do and I think it would be a good opportunity to give something back to a charity that is close to my heart.
So far I have loved every second of being this year’s Junior Miss Cumbria and I can’t wait to see what else I will be getting up to this year!
Love Ashleigh x
