Introducing the new Miss Cumbria 2015 – Jordan Smith
So first things first, I’d just like to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who has supported me over the past few months to get me to this stage: Miss Cumbria 2015/16! I’m not entirely sure what to put in my first blog, so I just thought I’d tell you all a little bit about myself.
My name is Jordan-Louise Smith (but nobody ever calls me Jordan-Louise, it’s just Jordan), and I’m from an industrial/engineering town called Barrow-in-Furness in South Cumbria/the South Lakes. As many of you will probably know I’m also the current title holder of Junior Miss South Lakes too, I won in October 2013. However I turned 17 at the end of November last year, meaning I was therefore eligible to enter a competition in the “Miss” category rather than the “Junior Miss”, and that is how I ended up as a finalist for Miss Cumbria this year!
I spend my days at Chetwynde Sixth Form College in Barrow, however I do have a job working as a sales associate at my TK MAXX store, TJX Europe are such an amazing company to work for, and I’m so fortunate to have been taken on there. My favourite hobby is definitely performing, and I absolutely love being part of Deemon Performance Academy, my local musical theatre/performing arts school!
I’m so excited to be taking on this new adventure, and it’s such a privilege to say that I am going to be part of the Miss England final in July! The next few months are going to be a lot of hard work, but I have an amazing group of the most supportive people I have in my life backing me every step of the way and I’m so thankful for it all.
I can’t wait to share my year with you all, as well as all of the Team North girls, especially my new beautiful little sister Alice Ghorst; Junior Miss Cumbria 2015/16!
Lots of love,
Jordan – your new Miss Cumbria 2015/16 x
