“Happiness is not something that is ready made. It comes from your own actions.”

So recently I have been spending a lot of time with my friends and family as it’s the summer holidays, especially with my little sister summer!

We’ve made tents, watched films, had picnics, painted pictures… We’ve done all sorts and had the best time doing them!

We were watching The Little Mermaid one day and she came over to me, gave me a hug and said, “I love you, you’re the best.’

It made me think how we can take things for granted, especially the little things in life! Sometimes the little, simple things such as a hug or a smile can make somebody’s day. However we are sometimes so busy in our day to day lives to remember to open a door for somebody or to say please and thank you.

We should, appreciate the little things. The love of your family and friends. A warm blanket on a cold day. The cool out-fit you’ve bought yesterday. The moment when you look at your alarm clock and realise you can still sleep for a few more hours. The sunflower you saw just the other day. The smile of a stranger…

There are so many beautiful things in your life. You just have to see them.

Next time you see someone that looks like they’re having a bad day, give them a smile, it might just brighten their mood.
